Diary Entry Day 16
I saw the Lady Rachel and introduced her the man who gave me coin for dancing last night.

He introduced himself as Eshon. They did not seem to like each other much and almost began fighting. I had completely forgot she was with child and after they mended their ways she reminded me. I was mortified to think I could have been responsible for a horrible tragedy.

Rumors abound that the Princess has her eye on me I hope it is for good, not ill.
I found a new job cleaning up after the camels.


Camel Duty

I swear the stable master must feed them broccoli and cabbage. I was paid well enough! I have been hiding dinar in a jar in the desert. I give some to Mistress and keep some for myself. Towards dusk, Mistress came to me and said I was up for sale. She is very curt so I dare not ask more that what I am told. I am a afraid things could be come worse. I wait.

Diary Entry Day 18
I am a Harem girl!!! Mistress sold me to the palace for 800 dinar. There are so many rules I may go crazy. The lady Sun bought me. The beautiful lady champion of the fights I watched. My days in the harem have turned horrid. I do everything wrong, and I have already been lashed across the back once for peeking in a money till. I was accused of stealing, of all things. I cried for a very long time.
 I cannot leave because I might be taken. The doors are locked and I wander in a circle trapped in a gilded cage. I spent the day making the guard crazy with stupid questions just to amuse myself.

We washed the Prince today. Apparently the man can't wash himself. We undressed him and I used all my Kajira charms to entice him and guess what? I got in trouble for that!! "You are not a common whore", I was told. Well la-dee-da I bet I made his jeweled sword stand up. He will dream of me and not those other homely girls tonight.

Diary Entry Day 21
I escaped and came back with much success. I found some old cloths and a black wig tucked in a chest. I let myself down the balcony and wandered the streets. My heart raced the whole time. It was close though, the lady Sun was in the market but I saw her first, and I raced back to beat her to the palace. I was all in silks smiling by the time she caught up with me. I did feel bad for her; she is overwhelmed by the cities responsibilities and a shortage of food has caused more problems. I did what I could to console her.
That night I met a new Lady today in the harem. She seemed cross at first, but I was able to mend that and she became less cross. I think she is important, but I did not ask as the Lady Sun and her were in deep conversation.

Diary Entry Day 22
I spent all morning and all day sleeping. I have discovered a way to the harem roof by climbing the ivy's on the porch and sunbath there. I helped Fateema and Yasha (my harem sisters) climb up with me and we all bathed in the sun, naked, looking over the ocean. After dusk I stole out with Fateema and we danced at the gates pretending to be lowly pleasure sluts. It was risky with no escort and parading ourselves like that, but with a big crowd watching, no man would dare chance the crowds wrath to take us from them.
